Kusama Quest

2024

Kusama Quest was a 8-week project with the goal of using virtual reality to create an interactive and informative experience based around Yayoi Kusama's Dots Obsession.

The result was a fully functional Unity game that had players explore a virtual museum-like environment to learn about Kusama and interact with the different floating 'dots'. This was a team effort where I handled all of the Unity development and coding.

My Contributions

Product Management:

  • Led the design and development process, ensuring seamless integration of artistic storytelling and VR technology.

  • Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams of artists, developers, and hardware specialists to bring an immersive experience to life, maintaining alignment with creative and technical goals.

  • Defined and prioritized key features to balance user experience, artistic vision, and technological feasibility, delivering an innovative and engaging product.

Unity Development:

  • Coded the entire game in Unity including the functionality for players to alter the lighting and throw orbs that would interact with the environment.

  • Created an immersive environment where players could interact with the art.

  • Implemented VFX, SFX, and 3D models.
