Reality Rift
2024
Reality Rift was a 12-week project that aimed to explore mixed reality and how it can be used in the context of an escape room game.
The result was a fully functional Unity demo featuring mixed-reality puzzles that had players interacting between both the physical and virtual worlds. This was largely a solo project along with the use of some premade assets.

Playtested and analyzed similar mixed reality games to identify areas for improvement and potential gameplay concepts.
Researched various software and hardware options to identify the ones that aligned best with my objectives and possessed the necessary features to successfully execute this project within the given timeframe.
Planning:
Brainstormed and planned out the puzzles I wanted to develop that would best showcase the benefits of mixed reality.
Development:
Created the functionality and code in Unity & Arduino for all of the puzzles and game mechanics.
Implemented VFX, SFX, and 3D models into Unity. Also designed the necessary physical props for the room.
Tested and iterated on the experience while adding polish wherever possible.
